Recently you investigated and found two brass bushings for my 37/2 SuperMax sander. You then mailed them to me at no charge. Better yet, you spent your time which I'm sure is at a premium. I just wanted to thank you for your service and expertise. It is comforting to know I have a friend in the "business."
My SuperMax drum sander is one of the best shop investments I've ever made - August 2007
Bruce Kieffer-Keffer Custom Furniture, Inc.
My SuperMax drum sander is the most used tool in my shop. It's speed and quality are amazing. It is rock solid, precise, efficient and effective. I've never found anyone who claims to enjoy sanding until they've used a SuperMax sander. I can't imagine being a woodworker without it!

The Sander is Magnificent, February 2007
H. Horchover-CA (USA)
Bill, I picked up my sander at the Ontario, CA wood show today. Everything was just as you promised including Stuart. He was wonderfully helpful. He made some rather incredible boasts about the sander. However, after I sanded off just pencil marks and looked at what my caliper told me about dimension across stock, I believe him. The ShopPro 25 is the finest power tool in my shop and I am fortunate to have some very fine tools. I had forgotten what an American made tool was like. Bill, the sander is magnificent. Please consider me a SuperMax ambassador. If you ever need a testimonial I'm your man. In addition, the character of the SuperMax folks with whom it has been my pleasure to deal is consistent with the quality of the tool. Thank you.

Fantastic Machine, March 2006
D. Stuart Moore (NJ, USA)
I have had this machine now going on six years. I like it so much I bought a second one. I use them extensively and have nothing but high praise for them. I find as long as you use the correct grits and do not try to do everything in one pass (overload) the machine is fast and very accurate. Sanding wraps last a very long time, making the machine very economical to use. It certainly saves hours of time and lots of elbow grease.
The only burning problems I have ever had were my fault and not the machines. I was too impatient and took too much of an aggressive cut causing the machine to burn the wood. This is a condition one will find with any machine regardless of the power.
My personal advice to anybody needing a production sander for good flat surfaces is to go with this machine. Once you learn how to use it, it will be your best friend.
GOTTA HAVE IT, October 2006
D. LUVZWOOD (USA) - on the SuperMax Drum Sander
We owned a custom woodworking shop and could not have produced the quality products we did without the SuperMax drumsander. We were able to control the output exactly to where we needed it. The belt change was easy, and there was great power and control.
Happiness, February 2003
T. Kelly (USA) - On the 50x2 SuperMax sander
We've enjoyed the convenience of being able to sand wide face frames, and panels easily. The electronic controls make use relatively mindless. The Sandsmart control, which monitors belt speed relative to depth of cut, is helpful in sustaining belt life. The electric table movement is a necessity, as the table is heavy, and somewhat difficult to move by hand. The down side of this machine is that the sandpaper can be easily ruined by getting one burn mark, etc.. Then it's time for a new wrap, or two, at forty dollars each load. At a fraction of the cost of a wide belt sander, it's been a good alternative for our small shop.
Overall a very good tool, June 2003
E. Hubard (Fl. USA)- On the Shop Pro 25
I purchased my Performax ShopPro 25 after doing a lot of research. I even kept the box it came, in just in case I had to send it back. It performed well from the beginning. The operation is smooth and with great results. You do need a good dust collector. Changing the sand paper is quite easy and fast. With the optional set of casters, moving this heavy machine around is no problem. You need to be careful not to try to remove a lot of material at one time, otherwise, it will scorch the wood, and you can ruin an expensive piece of sand paper. I guess this is obviously the case with all drum sanders. The only reason I gave this otherwise wonderful machine four stars, is that the height control handle does not operate as well as I expected, you have to use two hands if you are rotating it full turns. I do believe that Performax makes some of the best drum sanders in the market. I highly recommend this product.
After sanding a few doors..., July 2000
A. Smith (USA) - on a SuperMax Drum Sander
Although I do this as a hobby, I used to work in a cabinet shop where we had an industrial, wide belt sander - kind of the rich man's version of this tool. I became a believer in the concept after seeing it handle cabinet doors. For that very purpose I purchased one of these a short time ago. The amount of time this saved sanding the 30+ doors I did on my first job was nothing short of amazing. Not to mention the quality was significantly better than sanding by hand. It did require some hand sanding on the rails that were sanded cross-grain - but that could have possibly been eliminated with a more gradual change in sanding grits.
Setting the machine up was pretty straight forward and the manual was well written.
